What is Rechargeable Li- Polymer battery pack?

The world is moving towards net-zero to save it from further harmful gases from different energy resources that contribute to global warming. So in climate changes, the only viable solution to overcome the emission of greenhouse gases is to opt for renewable energy sources. However, energy from renewable sources such as wind or solar farms requires a storage facility to store the generated power, which can be used later.

A LiPo battery’s ability to provide a fraction of the stored charge is determined by several parameters, including the battery’s chemistry, the pace at which the charge is given (current), the required terminal voltage, the storage time, ambient temperature, and other considerations.

Type of Rechargeable Li-polymer battery pack

Currently, there are three types of Li-polymer battery which are:

  • Gel polymer electrolyte lithium-ion battery
  • Solid polymer electrolyte lithium-ion battery
  • Lithium-ion battery with composite gel polymer cathode material

Correct Charging Method

Your new battery pack will arrive at 30-60% SOC depending on how it was shipped. Before you use your pack for the first time, make sure it’s fully charged. On the LiPo setting exclusively, charge your Li-Polymer battery pack at 5C or less. A balance charging system, such as the Hyperion, Hitec, EV-Peak, or Graupner chargers available from BPI & Co (better power new energy), is required. Otherwise, your pack may become dangerously out of balance over time, resulting in a large reduction in a lifetime.

For instance, if you charge a 4000mah LiPo pack at 1C, it will charge at 4 Amps. Or, if you balance charge a 4000mah LiPo pack at 5C, you’ll be using 20 amps.
